Good Friday

Because this blog-marathon was for Lent, and because the culmination is literally around the corner, it seems wrong to blog about anything besides the coming of Easter this weekend.

Mom and I just chatted about the correctness of elevating (and celebrating) one day above another in our new-covenant faith. Yes, the events of Good Friday have guaranteed our salvation, sanctifying every day of our lives as holy to God. Still, we’re human, and we need reminders.  We need moments (and hours) where we’re forced to stop and remember and feel the weight of the sin Jesus carried to the cross.

So, I think it is right to observe Good Friday.  I’m off to a service in a few minutes… I love the quiet reverence of today.

I came across this clip. There is something about a black-preacher… Something about visuals and music to help our souls remember the magnitude of today.
