Smiling today…

By last Sunday, I was completely blogged out. Hence the break.

After last night there is no way I could miss the opportunity to comment.  My, albeit hopeful, prediction was a Conservative majority. Polls pointed to the potential for serious vote splitting on the left, and I was (literally) crossing my fingers.  I don’t like political disappointment, though, so I didn’t get my hopes up.  Canadian politics is an uncertain game.

Lots I could say here… but I’ll just make TWO points:

First – Thirty One of Forty Six seats in the GTA. Conservatives, we got our breakthrough.

Second – Over 50% of Canadians outside Quebec voted Conservative.  That is a TURE majority.

So… had a very good feeling when I woke up this morning.   Rather proud of the senior statesman we get to call PM.
